Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

In short: MedKaddy has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Your medication information stays on your iPhone and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account. The developer never sees it.

What MedKaddy stores

The medications you add (name, strength, schedule, reminder times, refill counts) and the doses you log. This is stored on your iPhone.

iCloud

If "Keep a copy in my iCloud" is on (it is by default), a copy is kept in your own private iCloud account so it can be restored on a new phone. It's handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer can't access your iCloud data.

Sharing with a caregiver

If you invite someone, they can see your medications and dose history and log doses for you. Their own name may be recorded on doses they log or remove. Sharing uses Apple's iCloud sharing and only includes people you invite. You can stop sharing at any time in the app.

Medication search

When you search for a medication by name, the words you type are sent to RxNav, a free public service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, to find matching medications. Nothing else about you is sent. Like any website, their servers may see your device's internet address. See the NLM website policies.

Camera

The label scanner reads text on your medicine bottle on your iPhone. No photos are taken, saved, or sent anywhere.

Notifications

Reminders and alerts are created on your iPhone. Missed-dose alerts for caregivers are created on the caregiver's iPhone from the shared information.

Backup files

If you save a backup file, it's saved where you choose (for example, Files or iCloud Drive). It contains your medication information, so keep it somewhere private.

Purchases

Premium subscriptions are handled by Apple. The developer does not receive your payment details.

What we don't do

No accounts, sign-ups, or developer servers.
No advertising, analytics, or tracking, and no selling or sharing of your data.
No access to Apple Health data.

Deleting your data

Delete medications in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage (or Manage Storage), choose MedKaddy, and delete its data.

Children

MedKaddy is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
